Mai: No.

Jodie: It’s a classic. It’s set during the depression.

Mai: Oh…

Jodie: Let’s see… let’s see… S…. S… Steinbeck. Steinbeck. Here.

Mai: Thanks.

Jodie: Hm?

Mai: Someone wrote on it. On the inside page.

Jodie: That’s terrible.

Mai: “George shoots Lennie”

Jodie: What?

Mai: That’s what they wrote. “George shoots Lennie.”

Mai: What’s wrong?

Jodie: Nothing.

Mai: Is that what happens?
